Ingredients

  • 1 stale baguette
  • ½l whole milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 50g brown sugar
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • 100g Président unsalted butter

Preparation

Step 1

Whisk the eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar vigorously in a bowl.

Step 2

When the mixture starts to turn white, pour in the whole milk and combine.

Step 3

Cut up the bread into medium-sized slices and leave them to dry out in the open air.

Step 4

When you are ready to serve, heat up your pan on a medium heat and melt half the butter.

Step 5

When it starts to foam a bit, add the slices of bread, after soaking them in the egg/sugar/milk mixture.

Step 6

Brown the bread on both sides and transfer them to your serving dish while still piping hot.

Step 7

Sprinkle a bit of sugar over the top, and add a few little knobs of Président butter, which will slowly melt over the bread.
